Join us to sing the glorious music of Handel together, and bring in the Christmas season!
Sunday December 8th, 2024, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Tickets: $20 suggested donation (to pay for the musicians), or pay what you can. No one will be turned away. Available only at the door, cash or e-transfer. Any funds remaining after covering costs will be donated to St. John's in gratitude for hosting this event.

Haven't you always wanted to sing ALL of Handel's Messiah Part 1 - solos and all? Plus All We Like Sheep, the Amen Chorus, and of course, the Hallelujah Chorus to bring in the holiday season.

Come join us! No auditions, no rehearsal, no performance, no audience, just singing straight through, for each other, for the joy of it. All singers welcome. Everyone gets to sing the solos if they wish (most satisfying if you can sing in the right octave)!

We are thrilled to be accompanied by local professional musicians:

  • Tegan Ceschi-Smith, Violin

  • Simon Gidora, Violin

  • Karen Baxter, Viola

  • Sarah Poon, Cello

  • David Poon, Keyboard

  • Delamare George, Trumpet

Need a vocal score?

  • Download a free score (Schirmer 1912). Read it off your tablet or laptop, or print just the sections we're singing;

  • Buy a (Novello) score for $15 at our event (limited availability); to reserve yours please email Lise [å t] transcenturyradio.com by December 1st

  • Borrow a score at our event (very limited availability).

Have your own score? Great, bring it - any edition is fine.

Just want to listen, not sing? Totally fine, but you'll sit surrounded by singers; enjoy!

It's also ok to come late, if you have an earlier engagement. Don't miss singing the Hallelujah Chorus at least!

Many grateful thanks to our musicians, St. John's United Church, and a Generous Anonymous Donor.

See you there!
