May 5th is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual plus) people.

This event was originally held on May 5, 2010, and continues annually in communities across the country.

The local march begins at 10 am at the corner of Cowrie Street & Ocean  Ave.  Participants will march to Hackett Park where there will be speakers, vendors and performers.

You are invited to wear red in solidarity with the victims of violence and their families.
