Worship Services
St. John’s regular Sunday services place an emphasis on joy, community and going deeper in exploring faith and life issues. Singing and prayer, silence and laughter, are included every week. Come as you are, and be open to the unexpected. St. John’s is an Affirming Ministry which means that we intentionally welcome people who identify as LGBTQ2.
Centering Prayer: 9.50 am. Getting ready for the main Sunday Service is a busy time for some. The choir is rehearsing the anthem, the attendants are setting up the sanctuary, greeters are on the door, and the minister is looking after last minute details. While all this is going on it is quite wonderful to have a small group of people gather and pray silently together, being a centre of calm as we all prepare for worship.
Main Service: 10:30 am. This time together includes songs and hymns, scriptural and non-scriptural readings, special music, prayers that are spoken, sung or silent, and more. Our service ends around 11:30 am, and coffee, tea, and juice are served in the church hall immediately afterwards. Everyone is welcome for refreshments and fellowship.
There is a soundproof Family Room stocked with activities for children to enjoy, and from where their caregivers can see and hear the service.
