Advent Eve Party with Wreath Making and Pasta Dinner

To celebrate the beginning of the new liturgical year, a group of over twenty people joined together for an Advent Eve Party at St. John's on November 26th.  We had wonderful messy fun making wreaths under the guidance of Alex and Collene.  Anita brought a lot of beautiful decorating materials to share for the wreaths and everyone contributed to the piles of greenery.

Richard brought some lovely snowy white angels that the children decorated with glitter of every colour.

Joan organized the setting up of a Christmas Tree in the sanctuary which will continue to be adorned with socks, mitts, toques, scarves and other gifts for the local Community Services and for First United Church in downtown Eastside Vancouver.

A delicious pasta dinner with awesome desserts was organized by Joan, Anita, Martha and numerous helpers.  Conversations around the table were varied and lively and we marked the beginning of the new liturgical calendar by counting down and yelling, "Happy New Year!"
